Setting the Stage for Feeding Success: Early Skills for Babies with Down Syndrome
Team Iron Will welcomes Jill Rabin, speech pathologist and lactation consultant with 39 years of experience!
Join us on February 24 at 1:30 PM CT for an educational webinar designed for parents of babies with Down syndrome. Learn why feeding intervention should begin at birth and how early preparation for solids—starting in the first 3 years—supports safer, more successful feeding. She’ll cover essential prefeeding skills, gross motor foundations, and introduce the Adapted Baby-Led Weaning Approach®, including how to use family foods and bridge devices to promote self-feeding and optimal chewing. Parents will leave with practical strategies, visuals, and video examples to confidently support their baby’s feeding journey.

Material Assistance:
We provide medical, therapeutic and adaptive equipment, care packages, and developmental and educational tools to families in the Down syndrome community who may be experiencing financial strain.
educational opportunities:
We endeavor to educate families and providers about effective and cutting-edge techniques, procedures, and programs that maximize our children’s lived experiences with expert-led sessions offering insights, guidance, and real-life stories.
medical advocacy:
Finding healthcare professionals who genuinely respect and uphold the dignity and value of children with Down syndrome can be a challenge. We're building a directory that will serve as a trusted resource listing providers who not only offer excellent care but also champion the dignity, worth, and purpose of every child they serve.
Not only am I more knowledgeable about the importance of working out my daughter’s mouth, but I feel confident in the exercises and advocating for her to specialists and doctors. Without your generosity, we would have never been able to have access to such an amazing and insightful course.
We are so grateful this scholarship could help us open the door to developing Teddy’s speech. Teddy is only 18 months old, but being able to start from the beginning of his speech journey knowing the correct foundational techniques and how to tailor to his unique difficulties has been so empowering.
This was the best guidance I’ve found for helping a child with Down syndrome find their voice. My daughter has a voice - and this class helped me learn how to help her use it. I’m deeply grateful to Team Iron Will for their scholarship support, which made it possible for us to take part in this life-changing class.
I wanted to update you that I was able to finish setting up our new Owlet! It’s so amazing to have! The peace of mind we will have when Dominic gets sick is priceless. Thank you so much Team Iron Will!!
It might just be a toy to some, but to us it meant the world. We cannot afford many extras with hospital bills coming all the time, but to have developmental toys for our heart warrior is such a blessing. Thank you Team Iron Will.
We were discharged from the hospital yesterday. I cannot tell you how thankful I am for this owlet. … We slept soundly in our own beds last night because of the peace of mind the owlet gave us. Thank you so much!!
